Dave Mckean Awards...

Well tomorrow night I shall be attending the Dave Awards,  a Uni awards night set up by the incredible Dave Mckean. There are some great awards, and there will be some great talent in the room as well as sponsors including Brian Griffin, the BBC and the Young Creative Council.

I'm very honoured to have been nominated for the AOI Illustrator award that comes with a placement at the AOI. The other nominees have produced some incredible work, along with all the other Visual Communication nominees over at We Grow Cherries, there is some amazing work so it's really worth a look! I think it'll be a tough category but just to be nominated is really exciting, and it should be a great night!

Well here's the start of my weekly treats posts... expect a weekly slot filled with the work of amazing artists/illustrators/all round creatives to treat your eyes with...

First up is xhxix an illustrator from Tokyo. I really wish I new a little more about this illustrator but you can see all the work on the link. The tone and emotive quality of each piece is incredible, this original take on portraiture captures such intense emotion...  I could look at this work for hours...

Final Major Project

Sooo I am no longer a student and bouncing back into the real world... I'm working on a really great commission and a tattoo design at the moment so I'm happily busy drawing away...

I thought I would share with you some of my final work for the project that has kept me hostage at my drawing post for many many many weeks! The pieces were all originals in pencil, screen print and collage... the picture quality isn't the best but here it is for you all to see.
