Evening all, sorry I've been a little quiet posting new work lately, I've been busy drawing away but I'll have to wait to share, here are some little snippets on what I've been working on as well as my new friend of the moment... my new mechanical pencil....

This week's Tuesday Treats (yes I know it's Wednesday but I am a day behind myself and I like the alliteration of the T's... Wednesday just doesn't sound as nice, so I'll cheat just this once/twice (last week also!))
Anywho's the artist feature is on Artaksiniya - this illustrator has a slight air of mystery as I can't seem to find too many details, but with these works, who needs talk; as they are a delight. You can find a little more over here on the blog. The work has such a distinct style; they have a sharp edge, and creepy like humour (I'm saying this in a most positive way!) The placement and use of colour and pattern works perfectly, and the ribon motif's and small details make each work stand alone as a greta piece of art.
All in all a super talented illustrator.

ps. Sorry I've been a little quiet of late, I've been beavering away with my pencils (and to note - I am a converted mechanical pencil user) and working on various projects that I will let you in on when they come to fruittion.

This week's feature is on Norwegian artist Kristin Vestgard. She works with oils creating haunting, wistful work. The colour palette is muted but varied. I adore the texture and subtle details using pattern and additions of jewellery. The use if the deer heads and birds creates a whole new dynamic that is just captivating. LOVE.

Last month I was asked to contribute for The Juvenilia. The Juvenilia is a new blog set up by Nolan Boomer and Kolleen Ku, they told me what they wanted for the blog and it sounded aces so I definitely wanted to get involved!

The Juvenilia is an Arts and Literature blog, and so far the other posts by a mixed bag of artists, illustrators, photographers and writer have been so well written, covering a range of subjects. It's great to see a blog with depth and substance, rather than a feed of 'samey' images that have no links to the source (while looking pretty, can be a frustrating!)

I absolutely loved writing the piece, and creating a real feature, as on my blog you usually just hear my general ramblings! The first post is an introductory piece about my work and my thoughts on drawing people. I'm looking forward to being a regular contributor and you can read my post here.

This week's Illustration Tuesday Treat feature is on Jakarta-Born Illustrator Morin Zalsy.
She creates the most adorable illustrations using pencil and watercolour. I adore the impish nature of the people she illustrates and with the signature watercolour rosy cheeks; the illustrations are defined as Morin Zalsy's. Her work covers editorials to fashion illustration and has been featured in and Elle Quebec and Bliminal Magazine.

So it's a little late but here are my Illustrations of Emila Wickstead's SS12 Collection for London Fashion Week.
I was a little unsure of these at first, as I wanted to work super quickly so I did them in one night which felt a tad rushed! But here are the results for you to see!
