So I finally gave in to Instagram... I was a little reluctant as I barely have enough time to blog/tweet/flickr at the moment! But it's cute and easily snappy so I've been clicking away.
I'm certainly no photographer - you definitely need a good camera and the knowledge to be any good (I'm in fact I'm fairly terrible a taking photos! I generally just point a camera a in the direction of what I want to take a photo of) but this is a nice cheats way of taking a pretty picture and a little way of sharing what you've been up to. So here are some nice things I've seen lately.
I'm working on lots of new work at the moment, but I may wait until the new year to share, I'm also re-designing my website (from start to finish - html nightmare!) so I'll have lots to share soon enough.
Hope everyone is feeling festive... I'm most definitely in the Christmas mood, can't wait!

This week: Austrian based Illustrator Constanze Moll.
Well thought out composition and a wonderfully balanced colour palette. These pieces have most definitely brightened my dreary tuesday.

You can also find her on facebook

This weeks treats features Barcelona based artist Chamo San. These moleskine drawings are incredible. The tone is dark yet beautiful. The bold use of space and use of dark pencil set back against the white creates compelling illustrations.

You can see more work over on flickr and facebook

I am in love with the oil paintings by this weeks artist feature; Portland, Oregan based artist Ruth Shively.
Her oil paint technique is classic but the work produced is such contemporary innovative work. The portraiture seems to hold a running narrative and the soft focus of the application suggests light. Just beautiful work, that seems fitting for the winter we're sinking into. Stunning.

Have a look at her new work and you can even purchase an original over on esty.

On this gloomy tuesday (it is feeling ever so cold I think it's time to put a jumper or invest in thermal pants) I shall cheer you up with this selection of paintings by Guim Tió
This artist from Barcelona creates unique portraits using the innovative approach of using a dynamic paint palette and texture with collage. The intensity of the startlingly open eyes provide a compelling visual while allowing sense of beauty to shine out in each piece.
You can also see Guim Tió's work over on flickr.

This week I made this Owl Illustration for my brother for his 21st. What do you think? I steered away from my usual girly illustrations and decided on this. And everyone loves an owl, dont they?!

I thought I'd be a good big sister and do a little plug for my brothers band Peace. They are a four piece band from the midlands, mostly found playing gigs around the country/writing some songs/flopping their hair around. They have recently been featured in NME and The Independent and you can hear one of their songs over here with more stuff to come out soon. Enjoy in your ears and give their Facebook page a likey.

An extra special post today...
I have been eagerly awaiting being able to post about this; as two of my favourite pals have launched Paper and Chain today. Paper and chain is a jewellery company set up by two best buds; Illustrator Ismay Ozga Lawn and Jewellery Designer and Maker Naomi Jago.
Each piece is designed by the pair and Naomi hand makes it in the Paper and Chain workshop; meaning you will have a handmade piece but at an affordable price.
I'm still trying to decide what to pick as it's all so beautiful! If you want to treat yourself / your christmas shaped family and friends with something unique, go have a peruse at the Paper and Chain shop.

Also if any of you know my face, you might have noticed the long haired poser in these shots is me!

An addition in my work for Audrey Grace Boutique. Not long now till the boutique opens, there will be some beautiful brands, illustration and photography. Go and like the facebook page and blog if you like to look at pretty things.
This addition is English Model and Photographer Pattie Boyd, I'm also working on a few more pieces for the lovely Jaclyn who's working super hard to get Audrey Grace Boutique together, I'll keep you posted.

Evening all, sorry I've been a little quiet posting new work lately, I've been busy drawing away but I'll have to wait to share, here are some little snippets on what I've been working on as well as my new friend of the moment... my new mechanical pencil....

This week's Tuesday Treats (yes I know it's Wednesday but I am a day behind myself and I like the alliteration of the T's... Wednesday just doesn't sound as nice, so I'll cheat just this once/twice (last week also!))
Anywho's the artist feature is on Artaksiniya - this illustrator has a slight air of mystery as I can't seem to find too many details, but with these works, who needs talk; as they are a delight. You can find a little more over here on the blog. The work has such a distinct style; they have a sharp edge, and creepy like humour (I'm saying this in a most positive way!) The placement and use of colour and pattern works perfectly, and the ribon motif's and small details make each work stand alone as a greta piece of art.
All in all a super talented illustrator.

ps. Sorry I've been a little quiet of late, I've been beavering away with my pencils (and to note - I am a converted mechanical pencil user) and working on various projects that I will let you in on when they come to fruittion.

This week's feature is on Norwegian artist Kristin Vestgard. She works with oils creating haunting, wistful work. The colour palette is muted but varied. I adore the texture and subtle details using pattern and additions of jewellery. The use if the deer heads and birds creates a whole new dynamic that is just captivating. LOVE.

Last month I was asked to contribute for The Juvenilia. The Juvenilia is a new blog set up by Nolan Boomer and Kolleen Ku, they told me what they wanted for the blog and it sounded aces so I definitely wanted to get involved!

The Juvenilia is an Arts and Literature blog, and so far the other posts by a mixed bag of artists, illustrators, photographers and writer have been so well written, covering a range of subjects. It's great to see a blog with depth and substance, rather than a feed of 'samey' images that have no links to the source (while looking pretty, can be a frustrating!)

I absolutely loved writing the piece, and creating a real feature, as on my blog you usually just hear my general ramblings! The first post is an introductory piece about my work and my thoughts on drawing people. I'm looking forward to being a regular contributor and you can read my post here.

This week's Illustration Tuesday Treat feature is on Jakarta-Born Illustrator Morin Zalsy.
She creates the most adorable illustrations using pencil and watercolour. I adore the impish nature of the people she illustrates and with the signature watercolour rosy cheeks; the illustrations are defined as Morin Zalsy's. Her work covers editorials to fashion illustration and has been featured in and Elle Quebec and Bliminal Magazine.

So it's a little late but here are my Illustrations of Emila Wickstead's SS12 Collection for London Fashion Week.
I was a little unsure of these at first, as I wanted to work super quickly so I did them in one night which felt a tad rushed! But here are the results for you to see!

I am completely in awe of these oil paintings by Australian Artist Joanna Logue.
Through application and colour they have an almost haunting quality as you can just make out the scenery, they appear as if looking through dense fog of a gloomy day. They make me feel sentimental and nostalgic. Simply stunning.

// LOVES //

Hope you're all having a lovely lazy sunday. Here are a few things I've loved this week and because I am so darned nice I thought I'd pass them along to share with you...

Beast Pieces - Is the design blog of Studio on Fire; a Design and Letterpress Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesotta. The craftsmanship and beautiful design they produce such as these business cards for Ackmann Dickenson I just love.
Designspiration - I've been addicted to trawling through the pages of image bookmarking site Designspiration, I particularly love the quality of branding images they post.
Le Fashion Image - A wonderful dose of Fashion - both street style and designer.
Seabank Selsey - I would love to go here; it's a railway carriage conversion you can stay in that's right by the sea. It's adorable!

I thought I would share with you a few favourites of mine thus far... Enjoy this scrumptious selection...
